Amanda Lousie Agins (soon to be Tzanov)
This page will tell you a little bit about me, the people in my life, and miscellaneous facts.
My Beginnings
I grew up mostly in Flossmoor, IL. A small south suburb of Chicago. I am an only child and adopted, but no, I’m not spoiled (LOL). My parents both come from large families and I was always close to my cousins growing up. I do not know my birth mother or father but I plan on searching once I’m more settled in my life.
I graduated from Homewood-Flossmoor Community High School in 2002 and was accepted into the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, (obviously I have a thing for schools with really long names.). Since the time I was 12, I wanted to be a microbiologist (study of microbes) or a virologist (study of viruses) and work at the CDC. It took about 2 semesters at UIUC to determine that I was not really cut out for the school or the major. I switched to nursing and withdrew from UIUC in October of 2003.
After withdrawing, I went to work at Springfield Service Corporation (SSC) and in January of 2004 started at Moraine Valley Community College. Initially I decided that I was going to go into nursing. That summer I went to class to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. However, when it came to actually treating and working with the patients, I was not confident with my skills and had doubts about going into nursing. 6 months later, I decided to change my major to Health Information Management.
I applied to University of Illinois at Chicago, one of the foremost schools in HIM that only accepted 20 students per school year. In May, I was accepted and am now currently n the second semester of the program, (yeah for me!). It was a few weeks before I was accepted that I met and fell in love with Alex (The Titan).
Life, currently (as of January 2006)
As stated, I was accepted into the HIM program at UIC. After finding out about my acceptance, Alex and I decided to move in together somewhere near my school. We went looking and find what we though was a great place. A 6 room (2 bedroom) apartment right in the middle of the East and West campuses of my school and for only $950 a month, (cheap for downtown). Little did we know that our landlord would turn out to be a jerk and the apartment not quite up to our original expectations. However, it’s what we call home for now and Alex and I enjoy living together.
A few months after moving into together, we decided that we were going to married sometime in the future, and now we are officially engaged. June 22, 2007; right after I graduate. I’m excited but I never realized how much work planning a wedding is.
